New increase on the international bandwidth capacity Algeria’s international bandwidth capacity reaches the 7.8 Tb/ second

Mr. Karim Bibi Triki, Minister of the Post and Telecommunications, supervised last night the increase of our county’s international bandwidth capacity.

A raised capacity to reach 7.8 Tb/ second, an increase from 2.8 Tb/ second in 2021 and 1.5 Tb/ second at the beginning of 2020.

Along with the flexibility gained from this major increase, and considering the strategic role of the international bandwidth in the local Internet security. This will gather the best conditions to achieve the sector's action plan in terms of fiber optic deployment and connecting two-thirds of homes (6 million families) to internet by the end of 2024, this upgrade will draw a proactive response to the growing demand on internet while guaranteeing broadband internet depending on the available offers.
